MESSAGE

In 2021, Kyushu University released "Kyushu University VISION2030" and set forth its vision of becoming "a university that drives social transformation through comprehensive knowledge" by 2030. To realize this vision, the university has declared that it will contribute to social transformation by solving social issues and promoting Digital Transformation (DX).
In response to this, the Integrated Initiative for Designing Future Society (for solving social issues) and the Data-Driven Innovation Initiative (for promoting DX) were established in FY2022, and the Healthcare DX (HDX) was launched as a division of the latter in FY2023. Taking advantage of the fact that Kyushu University is a core university with a wide range of specialized fields from humanities and social sciences to natural sciences, HDX is composed of many cross-disciplinary departments, including not only medical departments but also information engineering, science, law, and international departments, and one full-time professor and one associate professor have been assigned.
Within HDX, the Data Acquisition and Analysis Unit, the Service Development and Implementation Unit, and the Healthcare ELSI Research Unit have been established to backcast not only the healthcare field, but also society as a whole, to 2030, or even further into the future, with an eye on the DX image.
HDX will create a new era of healthcare based on data through comprehensive knowledge.
